It’s worth noting that the roads can get very busy in peak weeks with thousands of enthusiastic tourists, so the time to resort could increase substantially.

Chambéry Airport is the closest airport to Val Thorens. The distance is approximately 120 kms, which is reachable in about 1 hr 45 mins door-to-door - perfect if you want to keep travel time to a minimum. It’s worth noting that due to the size and capabilities of the airport you can experience delays or diversions in poor weather, which might be something to consider if you’re yet to book your travel.

Getting from Grenoble Airport to Val Thorens

At a distance of around 195 kms from Val Thorens, Grenoble Airport is another option for travellers heading to Val Thorens and the Three Valleys. Getting from Moutiers train station to Val Thorens
